Our Mission

The New Haven Land Bank was established to address the growing issue of vacant and abandoned properties in our city. By acquiring, managing, and repurposing these properties, we aim to reduce blight, stimulate economic growth, and enhance the quality of life in all New Haven neighborhoods.

Our Vision

We envision a New Haven where every community is thriving, with safe, affordable housing, green spaces, and vibrant commercial areas. Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, we are turning underutilized spaces into opportunities for growth and development.

Working with NHLB

Properties in the New Haven Land Bank’s portfolio are slated for redevelopment to support affordable housing and mixed-use development in alignment with NHLB’s mission and community development goals.

NHLB works with nonprofit and private developers, contractors, consultants, and other professionals through established procurement and partnership processes. RFQs are used to identify qualified partners and service providers, RFPs are issued for specific projects or development opportunities, and Bids are issued for defined construction and other work.

Developers interested in discussing potential development partnerships with NHLB should first complete the Professional Building and Development Services RFQ.

Completion of the RFQ process is required before an appointment can be scheduled to discuss potential opportunities.
